One of the greatest honors of Adam's life happened recently. He was elected as a deacon at First Baptist Church Moultrie. All of the attending members voted on that Sunday (Sept. 8th) and Adam got a call from Pastor Matt that same Sunday afternoon that he had been elected. Adam called to tell me the news and that was the most exciting news! It is such an honor that our congregation thought enough of him (and Julie) to want him to be a leader in our church.
Adam and Julie have been very active in our church for some time now and his leadership ability was noticed. Adam has grown up attending that church so everybody knows him. Some of the other deacons have teased Adam that their deacon meetings will never be the same now. LOL! Everybody knows that Adam keeps things "light and happy."
Being a deacon is such a huge responsibility and Adam will do well. We haven't had a deacon in our family since my daddy passed away 55 years ago (Daddy was a deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church we he passed away at the young age of 41).
Rosemary was unable to attend because she was home with pneumonia.
