Ride The Horsey!

Guess who else besides Sugarbelle knows how to ride a horse?  GRACIE!

Mama Lou 's Basketball Days!

Believe it or not, little kiddos, your grandmama used to play basketball back in grammar school and high school!  I know, it's hard to believe!  I was a "forward" and we only played with three forwards on one half of the court and three "guards' on the other half.  We were not allowed to cross over the "half" line.  Crazy....right?

Actually, during my junior year, we started what was called a "rover" and that person played forward and guard and was the only ballplayer on our team that was allowed to go back and forth from one end of the court to the other.  I could have never played full court like that do nowadays!  You had to really be in shape for that!

Can you guess which person is me?  I'll give you a hint......I was the tallest person on the team, although, I wasn't as tall as it looks in the picture below!  I was 5'10" in the ninth grade when this picture was taken and I never grew another inch after the ninth grade.  I was 14 years old.

When we traveled, we all wore matching outfits.  We had navy/white houndstooth skirts and navy blue vest.  We really did look awesome!  We had the best team around.  NOBODY could beat us!  We even played our local varsity high school team and beat them!  We were really good!  We had a lot of talent, but we mainly feared losing because of scared to death of what our coach would do.  He had quite a temper!  He actually threw a chair on the sidelines one time!  Also, I'll never forget the time he yelled at me on the court and told me that if I did that again he would kick me across the court!  It was because when I recovered the ball right under the goal, instead of laying the ball back up, I threw it out to my teammate.  Hmmm....big mistake and he let me know it!

1st row:  L to R: Donna Alderman, Carol Gray, Carol Jean Horne, Melanie Goings, Dale Bridges.
Back row: L to R: Donna Thompson, Ann Carruthers, Coach: Bob McGaughey, Debbie Buckner, Marilyn Delprete, and ME!!

John - First Day of Two-Year Old Preschool

John was very excited about going to preschool.....until he got there!  He was fine once his mama and daddy left.

His mama had his snack all ready!  John has food allergies so his mama packed him a separate snack just for him.  John also wears an allergy bracelet.  Wouldn't want this baby boy to suffer from any pain and anguish from eating the wrong foods!

John and Mary Aaron look so cute in their matching outfits today!

John made it through his first day of 2 yr.old preschool!

Mary Aaron - First Day of Pre-K

Mary Aaron is four years old and today was her FIRST day of PRE-K!  It's so hard to believe that she is old enough to go to real school now!  She goes to school at the church Pre-K and she had a very good first day.

Mary Aaron's mama made her cute little dress herself!  I am so impressed!  She even made a button hole for the very first time too!  The dress also has the cutest HAND buttons!  ADORABLE!

John starts TWO year old preschool tomorrow.

Another Wonderful Week With Gracie!

Gracie is at the cutest age (18 months).  She can say lots of words, but she can really carry on a conversation in her baby language that only she understands!  She is learning new things daily.

Today, she wanted to play with MY baby doll that I had when I was a little girl.  Gracie is a Papa's girl!  Papa worked from home today, which is very unusual, and Gracie LOVED having Papa home all day!  I am chopped liver when Papa is around!

I do believe that Gracie has a love for tractors just like her brother!

Gracie has fallen in love with the baby doll that I had when I was a little girl.  I don't know why because this doll has a very hard body and doesn't give a bit....plus, the doll has a bad eye!  She has carried this baby doll around for the past two days.  Today, she wanted to read to the baby.  SWEET!

Today, August 21, 2019, Gracie and I went shopping at Walmart.  I decided to just let her marvel at all of the toys.  She had a big time!  Once she got to the baby doll aisle, she was beside herself!  She found the baby carrier seats and then put the babies in the seats.  I love watching her do this all by herself.  She has such "mother" instincts already!  She loves her babies!  She wanted all four babies, but she was happy with leaving with two babies and a stroller.  Gracie strolled her babies all over Walmart and EVERYBODY that saw her stopped to ewe and awe over her!  She was quite the showstopper!  I loved it!

Gracie's Visit With Shep

Today, I took Gracie for a playdate with her cousin, Shep.  He was here visiting his grandparents, Jackie and Ricky, so we went for a visit.  They played very well together.  I must say, Gracie bit Shep one time because he rejected her constantly wanting to give him a hug (and she hugs tight!).  So sweet!  By the end of the visit, Shep was liking the hugging thing though and giving Gracie hugs!

Before the visit, I took a couple of pictures of Gracie in the yard looking for Papa.  She wanted her Papa!  She walked towards the barn because she saw his truck parked there.  She was sad.

After the visit, lunch and a nap, Gracie just hung out on the back porch and watched nursery rhyme songs on YouTube and had herself a snack.
