I remember so well the day you were born and the nurse put you in my arms for the first time. I had a C-section, and back then, I was put to sleep and when I woke up, they handed me a baby! YIKES! They forgot to hand me the baby manual with her!
I had never felt so much love for another human being. The first six months of your life was a blur, but a blur I will never forget. I must apologize that you were my "guinea pig" baby, but there has to be a first for every mother. I had no idea what I was doing and I was scared to death that you would break! Becoming a mother comes naturally, but it didn't feel so natural at times. What if I fail?
The first week, I was nauseated from the anesthesia and surgery, and then on day 10, you developed what the doctor confirmed as colic. You screamed day and night for six months! Who does that? They didn't teach us anything about colic in the birthing classes! That wasn't supposed to happen! What to do?
Once the colic was over, you became one of the sweetest little angels I could have asked for. I truly fell in love! You continued to be an angel all through elementary school, high school, college and beyond! Who does that? Were you real? How lucky was I?
What a wonderful 40 years it has been. I have truly been blessed many time over and I love you to the moon and back a million times! You are a dream come true and have touched so many lives with your sweet soul.
